When people face difficult, back-breaking tasks, their minds turn to labour-saving devices. Great inventions have been created in Taranaki, especially in the rural realms. Learn about a Stratford man who designs a milking machine; an Inglewood inventor who draws ideas in chalk on his workshop floor; and an Eltham farmer who comes up with a rotating milking platform. Some of the innovations born in Taranaki have made it on to the world stage. Later, we will look at atom-splitter Ernest Rutherford's impact on Taranaki; more farm-based forward thinkers; and an Eltham man who pieced together a whole lot of puzzles.
