Taranaki Stories
Entertainment And Leisure
Taranaki can lay some claim to a world-famous opera star. For many years, diva Dame Malvina Major lived on a farm near Opunake – read her story of love, loss and leading ladies. Kiwiana keepsakes that last a lifetime originate from Inglewood. We are talking about FunHo! Toys, which star in two stories within this section. In the future, we will feature a dancer who died way too young, uncover songs about Taranaki and hear from a few master musicians. And, of course, there are the actors, the movies, the festivals, the theatres and big productions, like the Patea Māori Club's musical, Poi-e. You are certain to be entertained.
