The Puke Ariki archive collection contains the papers, journals, letters (documents) of individuals and families, historic records from businesses and organisations and societies within the Taranaki region.
The collection includes a wide range of newspapers including The Taranaki Herald, The Daily News, The Kaponga Courier, The Opunake Times, The Stratford Evening Post, The Stratford Press and Taranaki Punch.
Other items include: taped oral histories, maps and architectural plans.
You can browse the collection using the search function below and access to the collection is available through the Taranaki Research Centre between the hours 10.00am-4.00pm, Monday to Sunday. Generally an appointment is not required, but it is recommended that you ring or email us ahead, especially if you are visiting from out of Taranaki.
