ANZ Reference Centre

The Australia/NZ Reference Centre combines Australia and New Zealand specific magazines, newspapers & newswires, reference books, and company information. Full text information.

 

MasterFILE Premier

MasterFILE Premier was designed specifically for public libraries. This multidisciplinary database provides full text for more than 2,050 general reference publications with full text information dating as far back as 1975. It covers virtually every subject area of general interest.

 

InfoTrac OneFile

VT is Taranaki's regional development agency and is useful to consult if you are considering starting a business in Taranaki, trying to grow your existing business, or considering relocating or investing in Taranaki.

 

Biz

Biz is a nationwide one-stop business information service that provides free access to details about assistance available to businesses, including updates on BIZ courses. This is available via BIZ centres nationwide, by calling 0800 4 BIZINFO - 0800 42 49 46). The website is a government-supplied portal to information useful to people considering starting a business, and to those people already in business.

 

Biz-Growth

This webite contains useful information, guides, reference information, and provides leads to assistance for people considering starting a new business, and for those already in business. This site is provided by the consortium of business organisations that assist in providing the Biz centres.

 

Xtra's Bzone

This website is hosted by Xtra and Yellow Pages and is designed to give business advice, tips and tools.  It covers areas including, accounting, business growth, employment, marketing and start-up.

 

Homebizbuzz

The creators of this site say their mission is "to provide information, resources and networking opportunities to home businesses in New Zealand, to help you make your business both fun and successful".  Home-based businesses are growing rapidly both in New Zealand and worldwide. This site aims to help those people.

 

Small Business Enterprises of New Zealand

Small Business Enterprise Centres are community-based organisations located in city and rural areas with central co-ordination by Small Business Enterprise Centres of New Zealand Inc.  They offer:

 

  • Practical business facilitation

 

  • Referral to other help agencies

 

  • Introduction to government departments, local businesses and consultants

 

  • Business courses, seminars and workshops

 

  • Ongoing support and networks

 

Poutama Business Directory

Poutama Trust is a charitable trust set up in 1988 to provide business development services to Maori.  This is a directory of services and products available from businesses owned and run by Maori.

 

Auckland Public Libraries Business Research

If you are interested in overseas material, the Auckland City Library Business Research website contains large numbers of excellent links to international business resources and statistics.

 

Christchurch City Libraries Business Pages

This website has some good information on company research and how to go about it, information for small businesses and it also includes a guide to the New Zealand tourism industry.

 

Howtolaw

This useful site for small business contains guide sheets on employment, health and safety, business set-up, debtors and creditors.

 

CEO Express

Handy for keeping up to date with international news and technology.  It provides useful links to a wide variety of magazines, including Time, Newsweek and Fortune.
