About Puke Ariki
Venue Hire

Puke Ariki can be hired out for private functions - even weddings.

The Taranaki Foyer and Arborio café and licensed restaurant are available for quality events in this architecturally inspired building, which has spectacular views of the Tasman Sea.

Conference dinners, cocktail evenings and private functions can be held in either space, or both. But Arborio must be used as the caterer.

The Italian-style contemporary café in central New Plymouth seats about 60 guests, with inside or outside seating available.

In the airy Taranaki Foyer, up to 150 guests can be seated for a meal. Or if it's a stand-and-mingle function, there is space for about 300 people.

Another visitor option is to pre-arrange a tour of Puke Ariki for conference groups. It would even be possible for retail outlet, Vivid, to open for the occasion.

Hours available to hire the Taranaki Foyer and/or Arborio are:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 6.30pm onwards
  • Saturday, Sunday 5.30pm from onwards

If you are interested in hiring our venue, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Taranaki Stories.

It's a long way from Nova Scotia to New Plymouth, but history is history wherever you happen to be. Andrea Melvin, Canadian Museums intern, has a trained eye for historic detail and a good nose for a story...
