LET'S GET INVENTIN'

31 March 2007 - 17 June 2007

Creative thinking caps are being pulled on young Taranaki inventors' heads as the famously quirky and brim-full of inventions exhibition Let's Get Inventin' hits town.

Named after the television programme of the same name, Let's Get Inventin' is designed to get children solving old problems using new ideas and ingenious thought.

"We are delighted to welcome the Goober Brothers (aka Luke Nola and Greg Wood) exhibition to Puke Ariki and are very excited at the possible inventions they are inspiring in the minds of young people in Taranaki," says Bill Macnaught, manager of Puke Ariki.

Twelve creative thinking workshops with Luke Nola are currently underway throughout the region.

"There are some great ideas in the exhibition that have been fashioned together using all sorts of materials," says Mr Macnaught. "It's amazing how inventive Kiwis are and obviously it starts early because some of the inventions are designed by children who are quite young."

The exhibition events programme, sponsored by Transfield Worley, promises to be an exciting part of Let's Get Inventin'. Members of the public will be able to sign up during school holidays and weekends for workshops using Roamin' Robots and Mindstorm Lego.
