My two children (aged four and seven) are very familiar with Babette Cole's offbeat and very humorous stories. Long Live Princess Smartypants is an hilarious royal romp packed with action and drama.

 

Cole revives the unforgettable Princess Smartypants from her previous book, and brings in other characters from the kingdom of Totaloonia – princesses, kings, queens, dragons, villains and a baby that is created by not following the instructions while making royal brown gravy.

 

It really got the kids' imaginations going wild. They loved it. It's just a little short of the previous book, but who am I to say, I'm just a grown up!
