If you're not sure where to go: Ask at the issues and infromation desk on Level G.

Where do I find the adult fiction collections?
These are on Level G. The adult fiction starts at the back of this level opposite the war memorial stairs. The paperbacks are on stand behind the main staircase leading to Level 1.

 

Where are the adult audio books and the large print?
These are on Level G against the Ariki Street windows. The audio books are on the first bay and the large print is behind this.

 

Where can I find the new adult books?
These are on Level G covering two stands on the right of the stairs leading down to Discover it!

 

Where are the bestsellers?
These are covering 2 stands also to the right of the stairs leading down to Discover It!

 

Where is the adult Maori collection?
This collection lies in the back left hand corner of Level G. Here you will find fiction, non-fiction, magazines and videos.

Where are the Multi-Ethnic, ESOL and ARLA collections?
These collections are on Level G under the staircase that leads to Level 1.



Where is the teenage collection?
This is at the end of the ramp going down to Level B. Here you will find the teenage fiction, non-fiction, paperback, magazine and audio book collections.

 

Where are the children's books?
The junior fiction, non-fiction and picture books are on Level B in Discover it! The non-fiction and picture books take up the entire right-hand wall to the toilet display, if you are going down the stairs. The paperback stands are behind the staircase and towards the forest area.

Where is the junior Maori collection?
This collection is directly in front of the children's Help Desk as you come down the ramp to Leverl B!

 

Where is the junior reference collection?
This is on the right as you come down the ramp to Level B next to the Study Centre.

 

Where is the junior multi-ethnic collection?
This is located on Level B in a single bay next to the port exports/imports interactive.

 

Where are the junior CDs, CD Roms, audio books DVDs and videos?
These are straight ahead at the bottom of the stairs on Level B, Discover it!


Where is the Study Centre?
This is to the left of the ramp on Level B.  The Study Centre consists of desks and 4 computers which are available for school students to use for research and study purposes.  Students are able to access the Internet and type out documents on these computers.
 

Where are the adult non-fiction books?
These are all on Level 1. The Dewey Decimal numbers and subjects are displayed on the end of each shelf. The paperbacks are on stands at the top of the main staircase that continues up to Level 2.

Where are the magazines?
These are located in 3 different areas on Level 1; near the cafe tables to the left of the staircase, near the left-hand side windows and in the Daily News Cafe.

Where are the Newspapers?
These are near the left-hand side windows on Level 1.

 

Where is the Daily News Café?
This is on Level 1 overlooking Brougham Street.

Where is the Taranaki Research Centre?
This is located on Level 2 of the South Wing. Click here to go the Taranaki Research Centre homepage.

 

Where can I study at Puke Ariki?
There are study tables available on Levels 1 and 2 (Taranaki Research Centre) in the South Wing.
Please note that there is no food or drink allowed in the Taranaki Research Centre.
