Puke Ariki

Museum, Library, i-SITE, cafes, and gift/souvenir shop between Ariki and Molesworth Street, New Plymouth.  Open Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri 9am – 6pm, Wed 9am – 9pm, Sat and Sun 9am – 5pm
 

Pukekura Park

Liardet Street, New Plymouth. Attractions include Fernery and display houses, fountain, Brooklands Zoo, waterfall, playgrounds, boating and the home of the TSB Festival of Lights (running from mid December to early February).  Open daily, free entry. Visit ww.newplymouthnz.com

Fishing off the breakwater

Playgrounds

Playgrounds are located at the following: Kawaroa Park located near the Aquatic Centre, Buller Street, Fitzroy Beach, Pukekura Park and Brooklands Zoo.
 

Head to the beach

Visit the i-Site for information on which beaches have lifesavers present.

Climb Mt Taranaki

Tramping

There are various tracks and paths all over the district ranging in length and difficulty. Visit the Puke Ariki i-Site for more info and brochures.
 

Rock hopping and playing in the rock pools at Kaweroa
