Visiting Taranaki is easy with all major transport links reaching New Plymouth.
By car
Situated half way between Auckland and Wellington, New Pymouth is a comfortable four to five hour drive from the two main centres.
By air
New Plymouth airport is located on Airport Dr, Bell Block approximately 12 kilometres (15 minutes) from the centre of New Plymouth.
The airport has commercial as well as general aviation facilities for private planes and helicopters, including hangers and refuelling services (BP/Mobil) as well as rental car operators, taxis, shuttles, short and long term paid parking and a café.
Air New Zealand and Sun Air provide regular flights between New Plymouth and other centres.
By bus
There are four main companies that offer regular buses services between New Plymouth and a number of centres in the North Island.
