Museum Object Loan Service
Puke Ariki has a selection of cased items from the museum collection available for short-term loan to Taranaki schools for education purposes. These items will support your pre and post visit learning in the classroom and can be integrated into the curriculum in a variety of ways.
There is no charge for Taranaki schools for this service.
Choosing an object
Making a booking
All booking requests are made online. We will confirm your booking with you by email.
Collection and return
Items are to be collected from and returned to the Education Office, Ground Floor, Puke Ariki library.The loan period is for two weeks. Please contact us if you wish to extend your loan. Please return items to Puke Ariki before or on the agreed date to ensure other schools are not disappointed.
We may also be able to deliver items to you via our Mobile Bus service.
Caring for the objects
Some of the objects are valuable, and some are fragile. Please treat them with care, and feel free to ask our advice on using or displaying items. We will provide you with information on how to care for the loan item.
Each loan item is to be returned in the same condition as received and schools may be charged for any damage that occurs.
Feedback
We appreciate photos of students using the items or examples of work inspired by the museum objects. Where possible, we will display these on the Puke Ariki website, education blog and in other promotional material.
