Friends of Puke Ariki

Friends of Puke Ariki has been established to act as a liaison between Puke Ariki and the Community. The aim of the Friends is to assist Puke Ariki with projects, fund raising, and stimulating community interest in the exhibitions and Taranaki history. Friends of Puke Ariki also provides special opportunities for its members to get involved with Puke Ariki, attend special functions, openings, Taranaki tours and lectures.

Friends of Puke Ariki was originally established in 1959 as the Friends of the Taranaki Museum and changed to the Friends of Puke Ariki in 2003 after the opening of the new library, museum, and learning centre complex.

Friends of Puke Ariki is involved with funding applications for Puke Ariki from various grants and was recently successful with the application for substantial funds to allow the Puke Ariki Learning Centre to continue.
