Te Araroa is a 30000 km walking track from Cape Reinga to theBluff - the world’s newest long trail, and one of the world’s longest.
Te Araroa walkers will discover the great diversity of New Zealand’s wilderness: the coastline, the forest, the volcanoes , the mountain passes , the lakes and river valleys.
You’ll encounter New Zealand’s back country people and places, and it’s front country too. The trail crosses rural farmland and 60 rural towns and settlements , but also follows green pathways through six cities.
You’ll also encounter New Zealand history-the old Maori trails, the marae, the early European settlerments , the nation’s founding treaty grounds at Waitangi, the old battlegrounds and the monuments of reconciliation.
